President International Society Dacryology and Dry Eye 2024- 2026

Ms Jane Olver is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, Oculoplastic and Lacrimal Surgeon , and Medical Director of Clinica London in London’s well known Harley Street www.clinicalondon.co.uk.

Clinica London was established in 2010 and Jane has been working there full time since 2012.

Prior to working at Clinica London she was working in the NHS at the Western Eye and Charing Cross Hospitals, part of Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust, where she had a busy clinical practice in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery, and trained residents and Fellows.

Jane’s main area of interest is watering and dry eyes, with a sound base endoscopic endonasal DCR surgery. She sees many patients daily for assessment and treatment of lacrimal and ocular surface problems. She is currently co-editing a new multi-author international book on Watering and Dry Eyes (Thieme) Publishers) due out 2026, called Lacrimal and Dry Eye Disorders, a Complete Guide.

She was the 2024 London Organiser of the International Society of Dacryology and Dry Eye (ISD-DE) and is now President, committed to growing the Society and interest from both corneal and ocular surface as well as oculoplastic and lacrimal medical practitioners.

As well as being an ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon, Jane has a busy aesthetic medical and surgical practice specialising in blepharoplasty and ptosis surgery, PLLA and hyaluronate gel fillers in the peri-orbital area and the face.

However, her main interest remains the interface between the eyelids and the tear drainage, called Dacryology.

  1. Francis & Renee Hock Research Fellow, Moorfields Eye Hospital 1988 – 1990. Area anatomy human vascular casting and anterior segment ischaemia fluorescein angiography.
  2. Founders Cup Oxford for best paper, on Vascular casting of the Human Eye 1990
  3. Founding Secretary British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS) in 2000 to 2005 – BOPSS the national body representing Oculoplastic Surgeons in the UK
  4. In charge of the Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Service at the NHS Western Eye Hospital (WEH) and the NHS Charing Cross Hospital 1996 – 2014
  5. Established new endonasal lacrimal surgery service within Oculoplastics at the WEH 1994 – 2014
